Our compostable packaging is designed to breakdown into compost within a year. Due to the shorter shelf-life of this packaging we pack these meals to order so please leave time for us to complete your order before we ship it to you.

How do you prepare a Firepot in compostable packaging?

PAN METHOD: Open pouch and remove oxygen eater sachet. Tip dry food into pan. Add the correct amount of cold water, stir and bring to the boil. Turn off heat, cover and let sit for 10 minutes.

CONTAINER METHOD: Open pouch and remove oxygen eater sachet. Tip dry food into an insulated container. Stir in the correct amount of boiling water. Cover and let sit for 15 minutes.

What is the shelf life on meals packed in compostable packaging

One year from the date of packing. We try to pack to order so you should receive your meals with at least 11 months shelf-life. The reduced shelf-life is due to the fact that this form of packaging is less oxygen resistant than our standard packaging.

Are these pouches waterproof?

Our compostible pouches are not waterproof due to the natual of the materials used ot ensure they can degrade into compost after use. We recommned that they are carefully protected from moisture using a dry bag or similar.

How do I dispose of a Firepot compostible pouch?

Please do not discard your pouch in the wild. These pouches are designed to be taken home and sdiposed of in the general waste, or your compost, depending on your local council guidelines.
